Last week at summer camp, we discovered part of a blue egg. A learner had found it on the path we walk in on. Just there, waiting to be discovered.

There was a ton of excitement and curiosity which put us on a mission to learn more. We put on our detective hats. We opened our deer ears, but all we could hear was the wind. We used our stealthy fox walk as we looked around for more clues. We started asking questions like, "how did part of an egg get on the ground?" There had been some baby skunks we seen earlier, someone curiously asked "are skunks egg stealers?" Sniff, sniff, our dog nose didn't point out anything but the trees we were surrounded by. Our owl eyes were WIDE open. In fact, we had 4 sets of owl eyes searching for any sort of clues! We were looking near and far, up high and even down low. About the time we were all ready to give up I felt a pull. My body radar was telling me something. I also noticed that all of us were looking in a similar area, like we all just knew. I gathered the group closer and we moved under a branch, that's when we could see it. Looking up, we found the nest!

Using the clues we found, we went to our resource library and referenced some of our guides. The learners quickly discovered they had found a robins nest, and a robins egg.
Fast forward to today, I received this lovely picture from a learner that was with us that day.

With this picture was an audio text telling, in a very excited voice, about this egg that he had discovered. That curiosity and excitement was evident as I listened to him tell me clues about who he thought the egg belonged to and where the egg may have come from. It was evident he was following what we had done when we discovered the robins egg the week prior; us Mentor's refer to this as an indicator of awareness.
Clearly the second egg is not a robins egg, but, do you know what kind of an egg it is?
